Welcome to the 'Blackbird Pie Magazine' website...

Blackbird Pie is the ‘What’s on in Cornwall ’ guide for families with young children. The magazine is published seven times a year to coincide with school holidays, and is delivered to pre-schools, nurseries and to infants in schools. You can pick up copies in the children’s section of the library, Sure Start centres, health centres, some tourist information centres and leisure centres. The ‘Calendar’ lists forthcoming family events across the county or country in date order. Depending on the information we are given, we include a brief description, the location, times, age range guide and price per person. The ‘Calendar’ on this website includes dates beyond those shown in the magazine, and some that missed the print deadline.

Our ‘Discussion Forum’ is yours! Please let us and other readers know your recommendations for days out, restaurants and cafes, books, toys etc etc. Please enter any queries or questions on any family/ child related topic. If you know an answer, please add it to the forum. We will try to get professional advice if appropriate.

‘News and Reviews’ is divided into sections. There are details on specific events, the activities section has suggestions of places to go including budget days out, there is a selection of book reviews and a ‘Stop Press’ section with information which did not appear in the current issue.

The Directories page is still under construction. It will feature directories of party providers, out of school clubs and classes, baby clubs and classes, farm and health food shops etc.

The ‘Competitions’ section gives details of the current live competitions, the prizes and how to enter. A selection of recent winning entries may be shown.
