About Blackbird Pie...

With our two small children to entertain, we found that we often heard about suitable and exciting events after they had happened or just came across useful services by chance. We also didn't always know about the wealth of activities going on in other parts of Cornwall to which we could have travelled. We reckoned other families were in the same boat and we decided to do something about it! We launched Blackbird Pie Magazine in July 2003 starting with 10,000 copies aimed at parents with preschool children.

We run the magazine ourselves with help from friends with articles, proof reading and distribution. The magazine is totally independent and funded by advertising.

Since 2003, Blackbird Pie's distribution has grown from 10,000 copies to 25,000. We now distribute to families with children aged 0 to 8 years and often include activities suitable for slightly older brothers and sisters as well. We hope that Blackbird Pie caters for all sorts of tastes, and we aim to put on show an extensive range of activities and services for families to choose from.
